Hi, my name is Radek and I am passionate about video games. I'm a fast learner and an agile thinker, which helps me work in new and rapidly changing environments. One of my favourite things to do is to learn new solutions and share my acquired knowledge to help others develop.
Unreal Engine 4/5 is my primary working environment, but not the only one I have interacted with, I have, for example, several student projects in Unity 3d.
Ultimately I would like to be able to create entire productions on my own, to achieve this I am currently working on my C++ programming skills. At the moment I am already able to handle sounding my work, creating levels, simple mechanics or shaders.
I have been working in unreal engine 4 since 2017 and have moved to the fifth version since its release. I am fascinated by the possibilities offered by unreal's tools and am currently looking for a job that would give me opportunities to continue working in this environment. Creating virtual worlds in UE5 is a lot of fun for me. I really enjoy working on solving logical problems.
Since high school, where I attended a profile with Computer Science in the lead role, I started to learn C++, and now I am developing this knowledge with a special focus on C++ for the Unreal Engine. I started on programming with "Logo" language in primary school.
I am also well acquainted with the possibilities and limitations that lumen and nanite bring with them. When creating projects, I always think about optimisation while I am already working. Aesthetics are just as important to me as performance.
Reading multiple offers description, I came to the conclusion that in addition to my knowledge of UE4/5, my skills in sound creation (with a particular focus on sound design for games) and a broad interest in games, through which I also understand what the player can expect, can also come in handy when working on projects.
I have collaborated with other game designers on many occasions during my studies and beyond. I am familiar with the workflow of game development and try to think about creating tools to make others' work easier/faster. I also have experience in creating shaders, lights, post processes etc. Some of these can be seen in the linked portfolio.
My gaming adventure has its roots in D&D, Warhammer or Wolsung, after which I bumped into WoW, which I soaked in for a good 10/11 years. I'm currently playing Apex Legend, Age of Empires and Dying Light, but I don't shy away from indie games either. Most recently I've been playing A Short Hike, which delighted me with its approach to world design and engaging the player in undemanding, calm and delightful world gameplay.
